Treating low platelets count depends on the cause and severity. The main aim is to prevent fatality and disability caused by excessive bleeding due to low platelets count. Mild causes of low platelets count do not require treatment. If an individual has a normal platelets count, it is not going to prevent profuse bleeding in case of serious wounds and injuries inflicted in serious accidents.
